Henderson continued his good form with 76 while captain James Richards was unbeaten on 39 as his side finished their 40 overs at 7-186.
Despite missing some firepower, including Max Harper, Harry Rosengren and Ben Turner with Riverina under 18s representative duties, Josh Thompson (68) and Jon Nicoll (49 not out) did the bulk of the chasing.
After finishing last in 2017-18, Thompson is thrilled by how the team has turned it around but knows there is still improvement.
“You want to be on top going into the break, but there are a lot of things we can work on with our fielding and bowling at the moment,” Thompson said.
