A mini trotting race.
Collingullie-Glenfield Park coach Luke Gestier will take on Marrar coach Shane Lenon, Gundagai hooker James Luff and Tony Ritchie from Waratahs in a hot lap of the Wagga Showground on Friday night.
Gestier got a feel for what it will be like at Tuesday’s training session and expects the competition will be fierce.
Especially with Lenon in the field trying to get one back after the Farrer League’s loss in the representative arena.
“I’m sure he’ll be as competitive as ever,” Gestier said.
“He will be raring to go.”
After his first ever drive, around the parade run at Wagga, Gestier heads in confident of ensuring the Riverina League remains held in high esteem.
“We can beat all of them and put ourselves on top,” he said.
Gestier knows there will be plenty of members from each of the four clubs to offer their encouragement.
The annual event is part of the second last night at the current track before the sport moves to it’s new premise in Cartwrights Hill.
The nine-race card starts at 6.33pm with the special mini trotting race scheduled to run just after race two.
