Kicking off at the iconic Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, the age championships pit the state’s best against each other over a four-day window from Friday December 14 to Wednesday December 19.
Wagga 14-year-old Kade Knight will be one to watch on the big stage qualifying for 10 events.
Knight will compete in the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle as well as the 100m breaststroke, 200m breakstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley.

He’ll be racing against club mate Jamie Mooney, who qualified for the 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle preliminaries, while fellow 14-year-old Lillian Holtorf will fly Wagga’s flag in the girls’50m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke.
The trio join 12-year-old Natalia Horsley, who qualified for the 100m and 200m freestyle preliminaries, and 17-year-old duo Brandy Nicholson and Emma Nielsen.
Nicholson will compete in the 100m and 200m breaststroke while Nielsen is set to tackle the 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke events.
