Bruce Williams lines up Myrniong Jake in the Wagga Tile Centre Stakes (320m) while son Mitchell has Indigo Summer set to go.
The two clashed last week, with Indigo Summer just coming out on top.
Indigo Summer also raced his father’s other greyhound engaged on Friday Mr. Avila twice in the past two months.
As it stands Indigo Summer has won two out of the three so Myrniong Jake is out to square the ledger.
“I have to beat him this time,” Bruce Williams said.
However the elder Williams isn’t going in too confident of either winning with Peter Donner’s Gotta Magpie an impressive winner of debut last week.
Meanwhile Mr. Avila was the fastest of the heat winners last week, but has come up with box five in the Ladbrokes Cash In 0-1 Wins Final.
He’s won two of his four starts, plus a second, but after a fast finish from Zipping Luke, Williams is very wary of Michael Bird’s runner.
“The dog that chased him down looks like he’s going to be a good dog, but I think he will up the front and I’ll be set to catch him I hope,” he said.
After having his first three runs at the 320m, the quick move to the 525m almost saw Mr. Avila come unstuck, but Williams believes he’ll be better for the experience.
“I was setting him for this race and the 300s were just so he could get a bit of field experience,” he said.
“He’s ready for the 500, he got a bit of a stitch though down the straight but will be stronger for it this week.”
