Tracey Lee King, 35, appeared via video link in Wagga Local Court on Monday, charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
She was arrested on Sunday.
Solicitor Nico Rump, who appeared for Ms King, applied for bail on her behalf, with his client appearing via video link.
Police prosecutor Priscilla Jones opposed bail, citing factors including the seriousness of the charge.
Ms Boyd, 27, was last seen in Coolamon on the afternoon of August 10, 2017.
Sergeant Jones told the court it was the police case that Ms Boyd was allegedly murdered on August 10, and after that date police had “various interactions” with Ms King.
The court was told the Crown case included text messages, voice mails and recordings of conversations.
One of those conversations recorded knowledge of a weapon – a pistol and a silencer, Sgt Jones said.
Mr Rump told the court his client had strong ties to the community and was a single mother of three children, who lived with her in Coolamon.
The children are currently in the care of a relative.
“She has no interest in leaving the area,” Mr Rump said.
He said Ms King had no extended family in the area, no passport and limited finances.
He said while the police evidence included the texts, voice mails and recorded conversations, these were ‘far from explicit confessions”.
Mr Rump told the court that no body and no firearm had been recovered in relation to this matter.
Magistrate Christopher Halburd told the court he was not prepared to grant bail in this matter.
He said the full Crown case would have a large amount of evidence.
The charges were adjourned to January 16.
Two other people are currently before the courts on charges relating to Ms Boyd’s disappearance.
Wagga man, Anthony Shane Hagan, 20,will be sentenced in the Supreme Court on a date to be set after pleading guilty to a charge of accessory after the fact when he appeared in Wagga Local Court in October.
Another man, Samuel John Shephard, 37, is due to face a committal hearing in March after pleading not guilty to murdering Ms Boyd.
