For the second time in two months the Canberra trainer scored a winning double.
Cooper tasted success with Ellen Louise before Anodoubt complete the double act at Junee on Friday night.
It could have been more if favourite Revonah Dolly didn’t gallop out of the gate to kick start the big program.
“I was fairly confident with that particular mare then she galloped at the start which was unusual and finished up third,” Cooper said.
As his team of horses expands, Cooper has been making more trips to the Riverina and when Wagga’s new track opens next year he doesn’t expect to miss too many meetings.
“I reckon I’ll be racing at Wagga every meeting and I’m steadily building my team up,” he said.
“Certainly when the new track starts I’ll be down there every meeting.”
He believes it will be fantastic for harness racing to own their own facility.
Both were driven to victory by Blake Jones.
The region’s premier driver has enjoyed the partnership after first teaming up in July.
“We had a good run with Anodoubt when it first started so I’ve picked up a few and try to drive most of them when I can and even get to Canberra and drive them a bit now,” Jones said.
The Coleambally reinsman is currently fourth in the state premiership with 23 wins from 90 starts.
The 29-year-old believes he’s started the season off better than last when he broke through the 100 wins mark for the first time.
“I think I’m a fair bit in front of where I was this time last year as it’s usually fairly slow around this area this time a year with only one meeting a week,” Jones said.
