Arthur David Cochrane passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018, aged 94. Beloved husband of Phyllis, father and father in-law of Lorraine (deceased) and Raymond Cook, Helen (deceased) and John Scheetz, Peter and Heather Cochrane, Glen and Nardie Cochrane, Jennifer and Keith Kilo.

Arthur was born at Gurwood Street Nursing Home in Wagga on December 18, 1923 and lived on the family farm “Wallace Park” at Brucedale until he married.
Arthur married Phyllis May Ohlsen on March 5, 1949 at St.John’s Anglican Church, Wagga. Phyllis worked at the telephone exchange and Arthur asked her to a dance while making a telephone call. They made their home at 18 Keirath Street, Henty.
Arthur was a partner at Wehrman & Davidson, which later became MS Davidson & Co. Most farmers in the Henty area would have had dealings with Arthur. Arthur was the auctioneer and also helped many farmers with the delivery of calves, being called upon as the local cheap vet. Arthur’s interest outside of work were; Church warden at St Barnabas Anglican Church, scouts, Masonic Lodge, his garden, and fishing.
Arthur was involved in leather work and the other love of his life, growing orchids. Two of Arthur’s greatest achievements were winning prizes for Australian Orchid of the Year. Arthur and Phyllis moved to Estia Nursing Home in Albury in September this year; Arthur lived in Henty for 66 years. His funeral was at St Barnabas in Henty on October 25.
