Thomas John Shields, 41, appeared before the court on Monday morning after he was extradited from Victoria to NSW.
Shields appeared via video-link from the Junee Correctional Centre after he was denied bail on two counts of using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 for sex and two counts of using a carriage service to send indecent material to a person under 16.
Defence solicitor Morgan Jones said the charges fell under a Commonwealth jurisdiction and requested a lengthy adjournment until January 16 for Shields’ next appearance.
Police claim Shields believed he was speaking with a 14-year-old girl in Arizona and another 14-year-old girl in NSW when he allegedly engaged in highly sexualised conversations and sent sexually explicit images and videos.
He will remain in custody until his January court appearance.
