A P-plate driver has had his licence suspended on the spot for six months after police caught him speeding on the Hume Highway at Tumblong.

About 6.30pm on Thursday, NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a black Nissan Skyline travelling initially at 135km/h.
Police then detected the vehicle going up to 160km/h.
Police said that after the driver, a 23-year-old male, was stopped, he provided “no reason for his speed”.
The driver was issued an infringement notice for $2435 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
He was a P2 licence holder with a speed limit of 100km/h.
Following the incident, the driver was escorted to South Gundagai.
Police were not able to escort the vehicle as it was not registered in the driver’s name.
