Makeham’s achievement was the first of many youngsters to be recognised in a season dominated by emerging talents.
Fellow teenager Adam Boyd took out Lake Albert’s best and fairest after making the switch from Royals in the off-season while 16-year-old Adrian Rourke was named CSU’s best in both their division one and division two sides.
Royals have their presentations at the end of the month.
