Winless after their two opening games, the Electrics came out firing to trail by just two points at the half time break after Cameron Andrews got The Casuals on the scoreboard early.

Electrics then forced the margin to 5-4 early in the second half before the unbeaten ladder leaders clicked into gear.

Daniel Foley was the chief destroyer with a handful of try assists in the second term along with a try while Zach Graham and Rhys Graham piled on the points.

Tyson McLachlan scored the final try to ice his side’s win and was pleased with their overall performance.

“We just got away from them in the end. It was good to beat them too after last year’s final,” McLachlan said.

“We haven’t really changed much and I think we’ve got basically the same team as last year.”

Andrews, Jackson Newling and Rhys Graham all bagged two scores apiece in the four-goal win.

The result condemned Electrics to equal bottom on the ladder with Rock Solid Gear Wizards, who endured a torrid night against a red-hot Quolls outfit.

Quolls scored inside the first 30 seconds and rarely looked troubled en route to their third win of the season.

Wizards skipper Luke Maslin did his best with a fine double but it wasn’t nearly enough as the spotted team swept past the boys in blue with a 10-4 win.

In the women’s competition, Young Guns kept their undefeated streak intact with a gritty 4-1 win over Don Tuckwell’s Audio.

Lucy Anderson proved the difference in a hard-fought affair, scoring either side of half time to lift Young Guns past an improving Tuckies outfit.

Molly McCrone dotted down in her first appearance for the side while Taylah Frazier bagged the first score of the game.

The win sees Young Guns keep their place atop the women’s standings having now defeated all three of their rivals in the opening month of competition.

They’re just clear two points clear of defending premiers AKW Jets, who have well and truly bounced back from their opening round loss to Young Guns.

The Jets were made to work against Farmers Home Hotel on Tuesday night and could’ve capitulated after heading into the break with a slender 4-3 lead.

However, a second half resurgence saw Kevin Salmon’s side hit back with a flawless defensive performance and three late tries to run out 7-3 victors.
