Sam Whitfield and David Bolton led the Colts home with the bat as they recorded a four-wicket win over the Bulldogs at Harris Park.
Wagga RSL were sent in by Colts and recorded an impressive 6-144 from their 20 overs.
Colts proved up for the task as they chased down 145 with four balls to spare.
Whitfield smashed five boundaries and two sixes to get Colts’ chase off to the perfect start with 43 from 27 balls.
Bolton then guided the chase home with an unbeaten 52 from 43 deliveries.
Kooringal Colts captain Keenan Hanigan said the victory was just what his team needed.
“It was good to get a win and get off the mark,” Hanigan said.
“I think this is what we needed. Things have been pretty down the first few weeks with players not available and what not.
“I’ve just been saying to the boys, let’s go out there and try to win the game and whatever happens, happens.
“So to come out and get the win, everyone was all excited and keen to get to training and build on it.”
Wagga RSL captain James Richards top scored for the Bulldogs with an unbeaten 48, while Kane Harding was the pick of Colts bowlers with 2-18 off four overs.
Hanigan paid tribute to Whitfield and Bolton for their work leading the run chase.
“We came off and were surprised (RSL) had got 144, it didn’t seem like it out there but it was a good score,” he said.
“Sam got us off to a flyer and set us up really and Dave batted through the innings and won us the game in the end.
“Dave’s maturity comes through and that’s all you’ve got to have, one bat through the innings and others work around them.”
Ben Willis returned 3-26 from his four overs for Wagga RSL.
