Bowditch has the ride on Viddora in the $13 million TAB Everest (1200m) at Randwick.
The former South Australian mare only secured a slot in The Everest last week after a slashing victory in the group one Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on September 28.
Bowditch, 41, grew up in Wagga and still has family in the area.
He started his apprenticeship in Sydney with Ray Guy and rode his first city winner at Randwick in 1994 before moving to Adelaide to ride for David Hayes.
Bowditch established himself as one the premier jockeys in Adelaide before making the move to Victoria earlier in the year with trainer Lloyd Kennewell.
He has ridden Viddora in 21 of her 27 starts.
Viddora is a $17 chance with TAB and will start from the outside barrier, gate 12.
