Richards and Ben Willis will come in for their first appearances of the season, while Wagga RSL will lose the unavailable Tim Cameron, Dylan Koop and James Stockton.
The Bulldogs made a strong start to the season last Saturday without winning, going down to reigning premier Lake Albert by seven runs.
Richards was happy with the signs but does not want to be content with ‘honourable losses’.
“Given we had five or six of our best side out and they were pretty well full strength to go so close was a good effort," Richards said.
“At the end of the day, we’re not here for honourable losses. We’re going into every game to win and we’re not happy to lose a game, even though it was a close one.
“But Lake Albert are one of the better sides so it gives us a little bit of confidence that we’re around the mark.”
Wagga RSL fell short in the run chase last weekend and Richards said the focus will be on a better start to their innings.
“We seen even in games last year, we were too slow, too early. We would save it for the end and leave ourselves too much to do,” he said.
“Rather than going a bit harder at the start, we’re leaving too much at the end. We want to try and get ahead of the game, not behind.
“Chasing 120 last week, we only finished four down, but we left too much to do at the end.”
While Colts are also looking for their first win of the season, Richards said Wagga RSL will certainly not be taking them lightly.
