Official attendance for Saturday’s inaugural children’s event has been put at 6000.
Spring Jam replaced Little Big Day Out, which was originally created to showcase the services offered to the community by Wagga City Council.
Little Big Day Out was held in the civic centre precinct in Baylis Street, but the popularity of the event saw it outgrow the limited space.
In moving it, council also decided on an overhaul of activities and a new name.
Visitors appear to have embraced Spring Jam, with council saying the feedback had been “extremely positive”.
“It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the beautiful spring weather and the new Spring Jam event. Council would like to thank everyone for coming along to support this new event in Wagga,” a council spokesman said.
Visitors who spoke to The Daily Advertiser were positive in their comments.
Council is now asking the community to help shape the 2019 Spring Jam festival.
An online survey is giving people the chance to comment on what they would like to see included.
The survey can also be accessed through the Spring Jam website: www.visitwagga.com/springjam and is open until Monday. Everyone who completes the survey goes into a prize draw.
