The Saints general pointed to strong bowling efforts from Tom Williams (3-16), Dan Coates (1-21), and Beck Frostick (1-24) and a solid knock from Nick Fahey (20 off 22 balls) as proof the side has what it takes to match it with the competition’s best.
“It was certainly a game to blow a few cobwebs out and there’s a few things we need to look at,” Forsyth said.
“We definitely weren’t playing at our best but I think a few boys really stood up out there.

“Nick dug deep when we needed him to earlier as well, so there’s a few positives to take away from that.
Forsyth is eager to see his team take a more positive approach with the bat and work on reducing extras next weekend.
They’ll be up against a Lake Albert side fresh from beating Wagga RSL in the opening game of their title defence.
