Jenny McKenzie, a nurse practitioner at Wagga Base Hospital, was named the joint winner of the consumer appreciation award at the NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards in Sydney.
It has been a big year for Ms McKenzie, who won the leadership award and the executive director nursing and midwifery leadership award at the 2018 Murrumbidgee Local Health District excellence awards in July.
Nurse Carlie Davis from the Narrandera Community Health Centre was a finalist in the excellence in Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander healthcare category.
“I am absolutely delighted that Jenny has won this state-wide award. It is clear recognition of her fantastic work to support patients and their families,” MLHD executive director of nursing Karen Cairney said.
