The RPD’s superintendent Bob Noble said the eight seizures of illicit substances included cannabis and LSD.
“We conducted over 3000 random breath tests and a number of mobile drug tests,” he said.
As well as drug detection, four festival goers were ejected from the venue by security and police for misbehaviour.
However, Superintendent Noble praised the majority of attendees at the event, which had more than 4000.
“People who participated were fairly well behaved, but police certainly did conduct a significant operation out there – a high-visibility operation,” he said.
“So we’re pleased to report that it was generally a safe event.
“With the cooperation of other agencies and the organisers, the behaviour of participants have changed and we think that’s extremely positive.”
In 2017, police made about 40 arrests for drug-related offences and made 17 other drug detections.

Superintendent Noble welcomed the significant decrease this year.
“We’re pleased to see the number of drug seizures and detection significantly down this year,” he said.
“I think the behaviour has been changed and I think that’s a step in the right direction.”
The festival wrapped up today.
