The Wagga Men’s Shed is now exploring its options to open on weekends in a bid to give younger men with full-time jobs an opportunity to get involved.

The team will start gauging interest on October 13 with a Saturday morning open day, giving everyone a chance to see what goes on inside the city’s biggest tool shed.
President Peter Quinane said this year’s membership was looking strong, but there was plenty of room for new faces.
“I think we’ve got more than 120 members signed up already, and it’s only three months into the financial year,” Mr Quinane said.
“Now, we want to try to attract younger members and guys who are not retired who might be interested in coming to the shed.”
Mr Quinane said there was about a dozen different disciplines people could try out, including woodworking, metalworking, plenty of gardening, and even a touch of beekeeping.
“Come along, experience what our guys during the week get to do, and see if you can get something out of it,” he said.
