The majority of festival goers at the Deniliquin Ute Muster have been praised by police for their good behaviour with only six people out of thousands having charges laid against them.

The high-visibility operation commenced at 6am on September 28 and concluded on September 30 and a minor were among those charged with various offences.
“A 17-year-old boy from Oak Flats was arrested by police on Friday, September 28. Officers searched the boy and allegedly located an amount of ecstasy and cocaine,” a police spokesperson said.
“He was charged with supply prohibited drug and two counts of possessing prohibited drugs. He was granted conditional bail and will appear at a children’s court on November 6.
Police have said they are currently investigating social media pictures depicting some festival goers pouring beer down a dead owl’s throat.
“About 2pm Monday police were made aware of a video circulating on social media from the Deni Ute Muster and officers from the Murray River Police District have commenced inquiries into the police incident,” a spokesperson said.
General duty officers from the Murray River Police District were assisted by specialist police from the Public Order and Riot Squad, Operations Support Group, Trail Bike Unit, Mounted Unit, Dog Unit and licensing police throughout the operation.
Additional traffic and highway patrol officers were deployed to “ensure motorists made it to and from their destinations safely.
“Road safety was another focus of the operation with officers conducting more than 1590 random breath tests and issuing 17 speeding infringements.
The penalties for this behaviour, if there were any, were not disclosed.
