Families and friends, young and old, flocked to the Murrumbidgee Turf Club for the annual event, with all proceeds donated to Country Hope.
Floral, patterns and prints were in fashion, with pink and yellow accents a popular choice for the ladies and hats were on show for men.
Not shy to the stage, Emma Wells from Young returned to the Fashions on the Field and won the ‘best dressed couple’ prize.
“I enter the Fashions on the Field regularly and this year we’re going to see a lot of bright colours, like yellow and pink,” she said.
“I chose this outfit, as we’re now into spring and I wanted to bring some freshness and lightness to the occasion.”
From the horse racing industry, Wagga local Anne Fury said apart from the wind, it was a “lovely” spring day.
The picnic races are on the first Saturday of October each year.
