The initiative at the Victory Memorial Gardens was filled with concertgoers, musicians and bands – all to raise funds for struggling farmers in the grip of the state’s crippling drought.
Performers included the Kapooka Rock band, Riverina Concert Band, Harry and Tom, Deja Groove and the Wagga Community Band.
About 2000 residents turned out to donate to the cause and to tell farmers they are not alone.
Also helping on the day were members of the Australian Army.
Sergeant Ryan Lock, based in Kapooka, said defence personnel wanted to join the community towards a common cause.
“We’ve come together to recognise what we can do together to help the farming community,” Sergeant Lock said.

“The drought concert here today is purely to bring everyone together to remember and have a good.
“It’s about being with like-minded people to forget the drought.
“You couldn’t have asked for better weather, it’s beautiful.”
As well as top entertainers, there were also foods stalls, face painting for the kids and service clubs providing sausage sizzles.
Money made from all stalls will all be donated to farmers.
Greg Guttler, program coordinator at Kooringal Rotary Club, said they did not hesitate in helping.
“We’re here here as a local service club to lend a hand for others,” Mr Guttler said.
“It’s a great day, it’s very family orientated – there’s plenty to see and listen to.
“Our Rotary club is always willing to help whenever we can.”
Among the residents who went for a good time was 77-year-old Divina Heine.
“I think it [concert fundraiser] means a lot because they’re struggling and anything we can do to help, we should,” Mrs Heine said.
“Dale Allison was playing songs with a young boy and they were awesome.”
Wagga City Council said the event raised nearly $4000.
People may donate at a number of charities, which are listed on NSW Farmers’ website.
