Murray Cod Australia has proven to be quite the catch, after it was named Business of the Year on Friday.
The announcement was made at the Murray-Riverina Regional Business Awards gala in Wagga.
Chairman Ross Anderson described the win as a “great honour”.
MCA also reeled in the Excellence in Business and Excellence in Innovation awards, contributing to an outstanding Griffith representation overall, with nominees claiming wins in seven of the 12 categories.
From humble beginnings to now being listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, Mr Anderson said:
“I judges recognised our export potential, and the fact our people have taken an existing native fish and (created) a whole new industry with this luxury food product”.
Regional winners compete for the state's top honour in November.
