David Cunneen said he is a little nervous, but mostly excited.
“I have always loved standup comedy, but it wasn’t until I heard about the Riverina Comedy Club that I thought it was something I could actually do,” he said.
“I am a little bit nervous, but mostly excited.”
Cunneen said he bases his jokes off a range of inspirations from his family to his everyday observations.
“I like to say I can make a joke out of anything,” he said.
“So hopefully there is a bit of something for everyone.”
There is something a bit different about the comedy club this weekend, Cuneen said.
“We will be raising money for Buy a Bale,” he said.
“I might even promise that if I get a standing ovation I will buy a bale.”
Cunneen said he was grateful to Dane Simpson for starting the club and giving local comedians a platform.
“With the success of the club and the Wagga Comedy Fest and the shows of comedians coming out here, it is clear there is a place for comedy here,” he said.
Cunneen will feature alongside local acts Michael Vincent, Kylie Martin, Harry Fennessy, Nick Schuller and the headline act is Nick Capper.
