Dylan Hesketh, aged 24, was charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, reckless wounding in company and firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure.
He appeared before the magistrate at Griffith Local Court on Monday.
Bail was applied for, but was formally refused.
Emergency services were first called to Kook Street on Saturday night after reports a man had been shot.
When Murrumbidgee Police District officers arrived, they say they found a 35-year-old man had suffered a .22 calibre gunshot wound to his right buttock.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The accused was arrested in Griffith on Sunday at around 5pm. He was taken to Griffith police station and later charged.
His case has been adjourned until October 10.
