The Bulls let a chance to play at home next week slip after conceding late two tries to go down 22-21 at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday.
Coach Morgan Grivas was devastated to come up just short.
“It was a super disappointing day,” Grivas said.
“We started really well with the first points on the board but just couldn’t convert the huge amounts of opportunities we had late in that second half.
“They got two, scored off both of them and that is the game.”
Tumut led 21-10 coming into the last quarter of the game, but failed to withstand the pressure the premiers applied late.
Being knocked in the second week of the finals for another year is a bitter pill to shallow considering the club has hosted two of the last three preliminary finals.
