The $1.7 million series was launched on Wednesday with the Riverina track one of 12 to be part of the series.
Temora is the only non-TAB track on the list.
While surprised by the announcement, Temora secretary-manager Donna Widdows was thrilled to be part of such an exciting series.
“It’s fantastic as we are the only non-TAB club,” Widdows said.
“It is really good.”
Temora only host one TAB meeting for the season, their cup meeting, but will be put under the national spotlight as part of the new series.
They’ve been given a place ahead TAB clubs from larger centres including Goulburn, Gosford, Dapto and Casino.
The club doesn’t race against until August 18 but will race twice more in September ahead of the heats.
Temora will host their regional qualifying heats on September 16 with their regional final on September 23.
The top two from the final progress to the semi-final at Wentworth Park on October 12.
Widdows was unsure what greyhounds would be attracted to race over the two big days.
They are still finalising programs for the new meetings with Greyhound Racing NSW, however with so much prizemoney on offer the series is expected to generate plenty of interest.
