At about 1pm on Wednesday, police arrested a 46-year-old man at his Mt Austin home.
He was taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with aggravated robbery and use of corporal violence.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wagga Local Court on September 12.
Initial inquires by police identified another man, aged 28, who was previously arrested and charged.
He is set to appear at Wagga Local Court on September 5.
Police will allege that on February 28, the 46-year-old man entered the store after engaging with the service station attendant.
The service station doors were opened, which allowed two other men, who both had their faces concealed, to enter shortly after at 3.30am.
Police will allege one of the men, who was in possession of a samurai sword, demanded cash from the till.
The men allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old male employee by punching him to the head.
“Fortunately, the service station attendant was later treated and survived the incident,” Detective Chief Inspector Darren Cloake said.
The armed men fled the store on foot with more than 300 packets of cigarettes and a sum of cash.
“There is footage, obviously, and all the security measures undertaken by the service station are quite sound,” Chief Inspector Cloake said.
“Unfortunately, on this occasion, it was through deception that the attendant did let the males in – or one male in particular and the others took advantage of that situation.”

Officers from Riverina Police District were alerted and started investigations.
“The investigations led by the detectives here and especially our tag unit sought to identify one of the males,” Detective Chief Inspector Cloake said.
Police continue to seek a third male offender in relation to the incident.
“Our inquiries with respect to this matter continue and we hope to identify him and bring him before the courts,” Detective Chief Inspector Cloake said.
The community has been thanked for their assistance with recent police matters.
“In recent days, there was a male who was wanted by police,” Detective Chief Inspector Cloake said.
“His photograph was placed on social media, which led to a lot of information coming from the community in terms of identifying his location and some of the activities that he was involved in.
“So we're all grateful for the community stepping up – it's a great example of community-based policing, being active in resolving some of the problems we do have here in Wagga.”
