Moses Adesola and Tom Mathewson are expected to return for Sunday’s clash with Cootamundra at Rawlings Park and will add a wealth of experience against the Strikers.
The ninth-placed Warriors have plenty of talent and pushed ladder leaders Lake Albert harder than expected last month in a hard-fought 3-1 loss.
However, the green machine has struggled with player availabilities and closing out games throughout an up-and-down season.
Injuries have been particularly costly, prompting Nichols to blood a number of junior players over the past two weeks against competition heavyweights Henwood Park and Tolland.
“We’ve had a fair few out in recent games, but hopefully the majority of our players will be back for this weekend,” Nichols said.
South Wagga are out of the finals race but a win would cripple the Strikers’ hopes.
