Kildare kept Mater Dei honest in a scoreless opening half with plenty of chances left on the paddock, but it was a different story after oranges.
The two sides traded goals before a late flurry blew the scoreline out.
Corey Toole (2) and Jack Carey did the damage for Mater Dei in the second half, finding the net three times between them and taking their side to the top of Pool A.
Competition manager Nathan Irvine was nevertheless impressed with Kildare’s first half performance.
“It’s been a while since they’ve played and there were chances for both teams in the first half,” he said.
Mater Dei can secure top spot in Pool A if they can knock over rivals Wagga High next week.
