Mia, age 3, was born with an incredibly rare medical condition that left her hip and femur underdeveloped.
Her family has been fundraising for $300,000 to travel to the United States for the surgery and stay there for three months of recovery.
Mia’s mum Leila Bright said they had not counted the returns from the event at the International Hotel but hoped to make a “big chunk” in the $69,000 left of the fundraising goal.
“It went really well. We’re happy that people came and supported us again for another year,” she said.
“We’ll see in the next week or so how much we have got.”
The family has booked Mia in for surgery in January.
