Allen is named to start in the midfield, helping fill a void opened by injuries to Cal Gardner (hamstring) and Jackson Moye (collarbone). 

Sleeth is at full-forward, with Brad Turner unavailable and John Hoey recovering from a broken leg.

“They’ll probably take a game or two to find their feet but they’re in good nick,” Lenon said.

“That’s the positions they play, that’s where they’ll feel most comfortable and they’re used to playing those roles. They trained last night… they’re fair dinkum footballers so they’re only an asset to the league.”

The Bombers put in 11^th hour clearances for the pair just before the June 30 deadline in the hope Sleeth and Allen would be available to help with their run to the finals, and beyond.

“It would’ve been a waste of time going down this path if we couldn’t get them qualified to play finals,” Lenon said. “We’ll definitely be getting them qualified.”

Players need to feature in four games – in any grade – during the season to qualify for finals.

With a bye in the second last round, Marrar have four games remaining.

As well as Gardner, Moye and Hoey, the Bombers’ injury list includes Mitch and Clint Taylor and Jeremy Rowe, while Turner, Adam Whyte, Charlie Youngman and Brad Langtry are all unavailable this week.

Lenon defended the late additions, pointing out that in the pre-season they had expected to have Jesse Cunningham and Jack Brooks this year, even before their injuries started to add up.

“Like I said when we put in the clearances, we also had a couple of blokes with serious injuries,” Lenon said.

Turner has since played after a back problem but Moye became a casualty.

“We hope to get them back but until they get through a full game, there are no guarantees. They’re serious injuries, a broken leg (Hoey) and broken collarbone (Moye). They’ll need everything to go right,” Lenon said.

“So to get a couple of blokes of this calibre at this stage is probably lucky.”

And if everyone is available? “It’s a good problem to have and will have a flow-on effect for our reserves and under 17s,” Lenon said.

In the absence of backmen Whyte and the Taylor brothers, schoolboy Nathanael Mooney (who kicked five goals on debut at Coleambally) will play his fourth senior game at the other end of the ground.

“It’ll be good for his development,” Lenon said.

“He has played full-back before and he looks quite comfortable there… It’s actually a pretty young side tomorrow when you look at it, which is exciting.”

The Bombers will have eight teenagers on the ground including Mooney’s brother Rhys, Zac Lewis, Jed Jenkins, Toby Lawler, Jack Reynolds, Matt Parks and Zach Walgers.

Lenon said he isn’t concerned about their preparation for a struggling Coleambally.

“We try and prepare the same each week. How we train, your attitude towards your opposition – it’s all about consistency and getting that right.

“Whether it’s Coly, Rivcoll (CSU) the Northern Jets, whoever, it’s about turning up week in, week out.”
