Strong will be out to go one better than last year’s silver medal in the best trick division when he returns to Minneapolis to compete in MotoX Best Trick and MotoX Freestyle.
It will be Strong’s 12th X-Games appearance where he will be searching for a fourth gold medal in best trick and looking to podium in freestyle for the first time.
The 26-year-old can’t wait.
“Being a country boy from Australia gives me an advantage in Minneapolis as it feels like home,” Strong said.
Strong competed at last year’s games with a broken wrist. He has Wagga doctors to thank after the initial surgery in the US was unsuccessful.
“Thank you to local surgeons, Dr Adrian van der Rijt and Dr James Masson, for getting my complicated wrist injury sorted. We’re lucky to have access to this level of doctor in Wagga,” he said.
Strong has enjoyed an impressive year after surgery.
He won a silver medal in Snow Bike Best Trick at Aspen Winter X-Games in January, riding a custom snow bike designed and built by him.
Strong backed that up when he, alongside freestyle riding mates Harry Bink and Josh Sheehan, won the inaugural Seven’s Australian Spartan series in April.
