Turvey Park firefighters have issued yet another warning following a series of bin fires across Tolland overnight.
Between 8 pm on Saturday, and 1am on Sunday, firies were called to four separate rubbish fires along Raye Street.
Despite significant rainfall overnight, the fires still pose a potential hazard to the community.
“People don’t think the fires will be a problem, because it’s rainy and cold, but they can still become out of control,” a Turvey Park spokesperson said.
“It’s juvenile crime mostly, but we do need to go out and deal with them.”
Firefighters are also concerned that while crews are negotiating these small, deliberately lit fires, they may become delayed in responding to a genuine disaster.
Several weeks ago, firefighters were called to three separate small fires around Tolland and Mount Austin.
