It took her 58 starts to bring up her first win and Wagga owner, trainer and driver Ray White almost had to wait just as long for her next one.
However perseverance paid off and despite missing out on the juicy price of $124, White was pleased the six-year-old.
He was also expecting some improvement after working quite well in the lead to the race at Albury on Friday.
“I thought she was a bit of a chance,” White said.
“I thought following the one, which was probably going to lead and did, I thought she would get home.
“She’s been knocking on the door for the win.”
Maid Of Teak won her first race in May 2016 and hasn’t been placed in her last 25 starts spanning back to August of that year.
While she hasn’t struck winning form too often, she has been placed 15 times and fourth a further 14 times.
