It comes after a search warrant at a Ganmain property on Wednesday uncovered a number of items, including an amount of ammunition, prohibited drugs and a number of weapons.
An appeal for public information has followed what officers now allege was a deliberate attack in Ganmain on June 24.
Detective Sergeant Josh Broadfoot said investigators believed it was a dual-cab ute that struck the two men – a 27-year-old and a 31-year-old – in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Paramedics had rushed to the scene after 2.45am, where they treated the two men for head, spinal and possible pelvic injuries.
“It would have caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle,” Sergeant Broadfoot said.
“We’re looking for a dual-cab ute that may have suddenly appeared with front-end damage around that time.”
Sergeant Broadfoot said officers hoped an appeal for public information could help speed up their investigation and urged residents to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
