Dobbin revealed it was not the first incidence of spectators in the region “causing disruptions” to the game this season.
“It hasn’t just been that particular match on that particular weekend and a number of incidences have been brought to us this year,” Dobbin said.
“At the moment, it does seem to be a little more vocal in certain areas than we’d like it to be and we’ve had reports of spectators on both sides causing disruptions to games.”
Dobbin stressed there was not a particular club at fault but urged supporters to consider the example they set for junior players.
“Whilst we like to people supporting their team, no one should ever be baiting referees,” he said.
“It’s not a good example, particularly with young children going on.”
It’s an issue Football Wagga intends to raise at next week’s general meeting, however, the governing body is still waiting on a referees report from the Leeton-Tumut game before delivering a formal statement on that particular incident.
“The investigation is not over … but until we get that report, we can’t decide the course of action we’re going to take,” Dobbin said.
