The Wagga club remains undefeated after snapping the seven-game winning streak of the Bulls.
Waratahs fired early, going out to a 28-0 lead before Tumut finally worked their way into the contest.
It was a more even contest after Will Reynolds and Angus Forster were handed yellow cards, but the Bulls still fell to a 56-19 defeat.
Ever the hard task master, Waratahs coach Richard Skellern was impressed with the first half performance but thought his team went away from what was working for them once again.
“Our first half was great,” Skellern said.
“We probably went a bit wanting in the second half and didn’t score as many points, but finally got the last try in which was great.”
Early tries to Austin Wallace and Corey Toole got the ball rolling for Waratahs
They were then handed a penalty try shortly after Reynolds was marched off before Matt Shortis found plenty of space out wide after Tumut went two men down.
Joe Scott got one back for Tumut to see them trail 28-5 at half-time and the teams then traded tries after the break.
Jake Eaglesham scored the first of his two tries to start the second half before Steve Hobson slipped out of three tackles hit back for Tumut.
Euan Bonner, who kicked perfect seven from seven, then scored under the posts before Eaglesham put the returning Sam Hobbs over out wide.
Tim Graham responded for Tumut when he crashed over before Eaglesham sealed the win with a try on the last play of the game.
Skellern was impressed by his rivals however Bulls coach Morgan Grivas wasn’t as pleased.
Tumut went through a half a season of football without a loss, including a win over Leeton before the byes.
However the hooker didn’t think the team had the right mentality.
“We missed some key moments early, they built scoreboard pressure from that and mentally we weren’t good enough,” Grivas said.
“We let ourselves to get down to 13 men at one stage and that is what it took to get going again.
Waratahs went into the clash with Jock Munro and Harry Hosegood while Dan Selmes went off early with a hamstring injury.
However in his return from a shoulder complaint Sam Hobbs played out the game and added plenty of spark at halfback.
Waratahs now tackle winless Wagga City, who they beat 119-0 earlier in the season, while Tumut play host to Ag College in the only clash between two teams in the top five for the round.
