One Wagga organisation is providing reading material to the community in an unusual way.
The street library, or the fridge full of books, is located at the Wesley Uniting Church and was organised by volunteer Jenny McNamara.
“We saw it on the ABC gardening show and thought it was a wonderful idea,” she said.
“We had the old fridge, and we thought it would be a good idea because it’s waterproof and we can have it outside.
“We have a lot of books so this is just another way to provide them and it’s been really popular.”
The books have a high turnover, with a large range to choose from, Ms McNamara said.
“We have different genres and we also have children’s book as well,” she said.
The Wesley Uniting church accepts books donations for any who would like to contribute to the street library.
