Heather Louise Hughes, 49, faced court on Monday morning for a pre-sentencing hearing with a long list of convictions, including driving under the influence of ice in November last year and various petty shoplifting offences from across the state.
On one occasion, Hughes stole $197 worth of items from Big W, including seven CDs, jeans, leggings, and a t-shirt.
On another occasion, she stole $50 worth of tracksuits and singlets from a Best&Less in Gosford.
Magistrate Erin Kennedy told the repeat offender that she would be risking her liberty if she failed to address lingering substance abuse issues.
“Ms Hughes is not going to have any options unless she does something about the substance abuse,” Ms Kennedy said.
“It’s up to you now what the options are.”
Hughes will return to Wagga’s Local Court on July 9 to learn her fate.
