Dane Kennedy, singer, and Dane Simpson, comedian, are doing a joint set for the Wagga Comedy Fest on Friday night.
“Dane Kennedy is a mate of mine and really good talent he needs to be shown off,” Mr Simpson said.
“We’re both here in Wagga, we have both grown up in Wagga so it’s really cool to be able to perform together.
“People get us confused all the time, we have both got yarns when they think they have booked the other one.”
Mr Simpson said he has had a lot of help along the way and he’s excited to be able to do the same for others.
“We have got so many talented people here and we have got all the facilities,” he said.
“This is what I love about the comedy festival, we get to show off big comedians to Wagga and we get to show off a little of Wagga to the rest of Australia.”
Mr Kennedy said performing with Wagga Comedy Fest is a step in a different direction.
“It’s the complete opposite to what I normally do,” he said.
“It’s going to be a real challenge and it’s going to be awesome and my everyday life is pretty much like a comedy festival anyway.”
Mr Kennedy also said it was really important for Wagga to continue to foster local talent in the community.
“Wagga is a very rich town with talent,” he said.
“Local acts should support other local acts and we’re already doing that which is great.”
The pair are hoping to tour together at the end of the year, so keep an eye out for their next step forward.
