Despite all the construction, Wagga Wagga Community Health Centre is in the same brick building for now – up the ramp and behind the new demountable buildings.
WWCHC has free paediatric health services that often work together for the best outcomes for your child.
Dietetics: The paediatric dietetics service offers nutrition assessment and support services for children and families including food allergy and intolerance, fussy eating, diarrhoea, bowel issues, type 1 diabetes, improving growth rates or managing weight, eating disorders, tube feeding and support for children with complex needs. Referrals are accepted from families, health professionals and specialists.
Physiotherapy: The paediatric physiotherapy service is located in the demountable buildings in front of WWCHC. The service includes intervention for the management of children with orthopaedic and neurological conditions or developmental delay. Priority is made for clients referred by paediatricians, orthopaedic surgeons and those recently discharged from hospital.
Occupational therapy: The service helps children under 13 with skills needed for normal everyday occupations and activities. This might include helping children reach early milestones, develop fine and gross motor skills, overcome social or behavioural difficulties, manage emotions and overcome sensory issues. This can help with areas such as feeding, mealtimes and learning. A referral is not required.
Speech pathology: Includes intervention for the management of children under the age of 8 with speech sound errors, voice disorders, fluency disorders, difficulties with language, early literacy skills and social communication. Speech pathologists also look at feeding difficulties. You do not need a doctor’s referral.
- To make a referral to any of the above services, call 1800 654 094, or for more information call WWCHC reception on 5943 2300. For physiotherapy, contact 5943 2450.
