The 87-year-old was left trapped, after the two-car crash at the intersection of Fernleigh Road and Glenfield Road.
Wagga’s emergency service personnel rushed to the scene after 9.30am, where they treated the man for a minor head injury.
Ambulance NSW zone operations officer Eamonn Purcell said it was fortunate the collision had been low-impact.
Mr Purcell said the 87-year-old had been trapped in his vehicle but the crumpled area had not crushed or impacted on the elderly patient.
Using the jaws of life, Wagga’s rescue paramedics ripped the roof off the car to access the 87-year-old.
He was then driven by ambulance to Wagga Base Hospital in a stable condition.
