Beaven was a premiership player at Tumut and was the inaugural captain-coach of Turvey Park in 1964.
Beaven, an lightning quick five-eighth, spent time with Eastern Suburbs and captained Canterbury.
Beaven also represented NSW and Australia from Tumut.
He was considered one of the greatest players to play in the region and was a legend at Tumut.
Beaven had suffered from dementia in recent times.
