After a decade of being a drag performer, Prada Clutch is excited to finally be bringing her act to Wagga.
“I got into it by mistake, I went to a gay club and saw a drag show and thought that could be fun,” she said.
Prada decided to take it up a notch in the past couple of years by taking on a big production show.
“I have absolutely loved it and writing shows, making it bigger and better has been very exciting,” she said.
“Wagga can expect literally glitter, sparkles, live singing, feathers and everything you can dance to.”
Doing drag has been a way for Prada to help make the world a better place.
“Look when I started drag I said to myself ‘I just want to get up there and everyone has a lot going on, if I can make people forget about everything then it’s worth it’,” she said.
“That’s always been my goal and we are definitely nailing that.
“The funny thing is a lot of places where we are going, there was not a high number of yes votes, but we are selling the theatre out.
”I think we have some come so far.”
Lead singer Prada Clutch and her 'girls', take you on a journey from where it all began with Les Girls in the 60s, across the Aussie outback with Priscilla Queen of the Desert in the 90s and into 2018 with a celebration of today’s music icons.
The ninety-minute, all-male revue features some of Priscilla Queen of the Desert’s greatest hits including I Love the Night Life, Go West, Shake Your Groove Thing, Finally and I Will Survive.
The show is creatively directed by one of Australia’s original Les Girls, Monique Kelly.
Monique was a member of Les Girls from 1973 to 1997. She has a keen eye for detail and a photographic memory of how it was done in her day, making her an asset to the show. She’s the pot of gold from the Golden Mile.
