Wodonga landed a huge recruiting coup by signing the NSW Country opening bowler.
Suidgeest, who dismissed Australian Test batsman Joe Burns twice in the Futures League last season, will relocate to the Border from Canberra in coming weeks.
Bulldog spokesman Robbie Jackson said Suidgeest ticked all the boxes as the club attempted to bounce back from last year’s disappointing finals campaign.
“We’re pretty excited,” Jackson said.
“We have never really been aggressive in this field, but to snag someone of this quality has given the club a bit of a buzz particularly after the way things panned out at the end of last season.
“We weren’t happy with the way things finished.
“Cameron’s a very good cricketer and we’re always excited to bring quality people to our club.”
It is believed at least two other CAW clubs spoke to the Ginninderra paceman.
Suidgeest was rewarded for a superb Australian Country Cricket Championships with selection in the Australian Country Merit team in January.
He finished the championships in Geraldton as the leading wicket-taker, grabbing 20 wickets at an average of 10.4.
Asked about Suidgeest’s pace, Jackson replied: "He’s quick enough.”
Suidgeest and Jackson have spent time together with the NSW Country side in recent seasons.
He played his junior cricket for Wagga club St Michaels.
Wodonga bowed out of the premiership race in the preliminary final last season when it lost to North Albury.
