Farrer League were unable to perform on the big stage, going down by 85 points in their first showdown with the Riverina League in eight years.
The 16.16 (112) to 3.9 (27) final scoreline was not good reading for Farrer supporters and that what was upset Forsyth the most.
“I’m really disappointed,” Forsyth said.
“That’s probably the thing that disappoints me most was that the league’s in a better position than that so it’s disappointing in that regard.
“In saying that too, they were just better than us. Their players were classier, a bit harder, they deserved the win and they deserved to win by what they did.”
Farrer League matched it with Riverina in a ferocious opening 15 minutes but were never able to get back in the contest after then.
“The fact of the matter is they were just too good for us today,” he said.
“It would have been nice to make the most of our opportunities early on in front of goal, and also potentially our delivery inside 50 could have resulted in a bit better score for us but I don’t think it would have made much difference.
“They moved the ball really well, they were really well drilled and just a little bit harder at it at times as well.
“They played really well.”
