Fire and Rescue NSW Inspector Daryl Manson has revealed details of the fire that engulfed the Allonville Motel last night.
Speaking late on Tuesday night, Inspector Manson said the fire started in an adjacent building.
“The fire started in the shed and caught onto the main building,” he said.
“The main building has a common roof void and it all went up once the fire got into that space.”
Inspector Manson said that roof void had suffered considerable damaged along with eight rooms.
“The roof actually caved in on a few of the rooms and we had to pull the roof off,” he said.
“However, we were fortunate enough to cut the fire off before the restaurant area and the main residence.”
Inspector Manson also confirmed all patrons were safely evacuated.
Investigations are ongoing.
