Claire Anschuetz turned nine on April 15 and decided she wanted to give presents to sick children at Wagga Base Hospital instead of receiving gifts.
“I wanted to do it so the sick kids would have something to do at the hospital,” she said.
“I went shopping for all the gifts with my grandmother and it was lots of fun.”
Her grandmother, Cate Ford, could not have been more impressed by Claire’s decision.
“I cried when she told me, I was so proud,” said she said.
“We had a special day together shopping for everything.”
Cassie Styles, a clinical nurse educator at Wagga Base Hospital, said they are so grateful for the donation.
“It means a lot, we cannot say thank you enough,” she said.
“Everything that is given is a donation.”
