The contractor, Central West Civil, has previously attributed substandard compaction levels to unseasonably warm weather.
Recent assessments have detailed a marked improvement in the levee upgrades, but more than two kilometres of levee bank from Gobbagombalin to Wiradjuri and Copland Street to Kooringal Road Monumental Cemetery is incomplete.
Council is now assessing whether the remaining works that were initially part of the stage one upgrade will be packaged into the stage two tender, or may be completed separately if possible.

“Their release will depend on the decision as to whether the remaining works for stage one are incorporated into stage two,” he said.
